“Lyke means light”
LYKOS is an online art magazine I founded during the darkest years of Greece’s crisis, built on a simple belief: culture—and collectives—can bring light.
Inspired by lyke (ancient Greek for “light”) and the folk tale of the wandering, enlightened wolf (lykos), the magazine curated multicultural works of art, writing, and visual experimentation.
Across 55 issues, LYKOS featured 150+ artists worldwide, expanded into 2 interactive exhibitions and 6 creative meet-ups in Athens, and evolved into experimental video and exhibition projects hosted at venues including the Michalis Kakoyannis Foundation, Black Duck Multiplarte, and the Music Library of Greece, becoming a platform for connection, collaboration, and emerging voices.
