LYKOS Art Magazine.
In the dark years of the economic (and not only) crisis, art, and culture can bring the light.
The word “Lyke”, which means light in ancient Greek, but also the folk tale of the wandering, enlightened wolf (“lykos” in Greek) inspired me to create LΥKOS, an online magazine that featured hand-picked multicultural creations of the human intellect.
The result? 55 issues were hosted by more than 150 artists from all over the world. 2 interactive exhibitions and 6 open meet-ups for creative minds. Many new friends and a few precious collaborators. An experience of a lifetime, which taught us a lot for our upcoming careers.
Under the concept of LYKOS Magazine, original artworks and short stories became experimental video and art exhibitions at Michalis Kakoyannis Foundation, Black Duck Miltiplarte, and Music Library of Greece.
Thematic meet-ups were organized and hosted in many artistic hubs and venues in Athens to offer to young artists the opportunity to network and get in touch with the magazine’s team.
